Samantha Harrie graduated with a degree in Fine Art from Liverpool John Moores University in 1995. She worked in the North West of England as an installation artist and in 1998 directed her first documentary film, The Pool, which led to Superlambanana, a 3-Minute Wonder commission for Channel 4.

In 1999, Samantha found her passion for fiction drama and went on to write, direct and produce her award-winning, first fiction short, Peephole. Since then she has made numerous award-winning, short fiction films including UK Film Council digital shorts, most notably, Breathe, which screened in competition at Edinburgh International Film Festival 2003, Rotterdam International Film Festival 2004 and led to gaining a place at the 2nd Berlinale Talent Campus 2004, Berlin.

In 2006 Samantha gained a place on the prestigious MA in Fiction Direction at the National Film and Television School, which she was invited to apply to by the schools’ director, Nik Powell. She graduated from the NFTS in March 2008, with her fiction graduation film, Love Letters.

Samantha is currently developing her first feature projects, with Jessica Levick, graduating NFTS producer, which she hopes to combine with further shorts and television drama.
